I admit it was tricky but I enjoyed the challenge. Great Game.

This game is very simplistic and hard, none-the-less it still is enjoyable and humorous at same time. It reminds me of "Getting Over It".
Judging by the ultra-sensitive movements.

- You made a great game!

I got it to run on my MacBook Pro 15" 2016 and even though performance wasn't the best it was playable.  Thanks to the developer for also including a Mac version in the first place :)

To run it, the commands listed above didn't work for me. The first two commands are okay. After the second command is already in the right folder, leaving out the "TheProfessional.app/Contents/MacOS/" part worked for me (so only "chmod +x The\ Professional") and then instead of opening it via "Control + Right Click" it should be opened with "Option + Right Click".

Wow This Game is HARD! I thought that until I saw the guy a few comments down do it in 12 Minutes.....lol that was not the case for me

this is brutal stuff haha i raged hard

10/10

That is a cool game.  (41 minutes)

tyyy  :)

PLEASE, for absolute hilarity reasons. Add a recording feature, so you can record everything you do, but reduces the amount of time between limbs moving. (And then maybe even let players decide how fast it plays, and the delays between limb movement that was recorded?)

im on mac and whenever i open the game, i get an error message saying "the application 'TheProfessional' can't be opened.". does anyone know why this happens? thanks!

Same here. Good to know I wasted $2 I barely had on this

Are you holding ctrl before clicking to open the game? It worked perfectly for me.

I am, yeah.. But nothing's working

Hey, I'm sorry to hear this. There are instructions in the description of the game that might fix this. I unfortunately don't have a mac to test things on.

I'm happy to refund you if you send me the email you bought it with.

One way that I got it to work was by downloading the unarchiver app on the app store and unzipping the file with it, maybe try that?

I actually just ended up installing the itch.io app and the game works just fine when downloaded from there. No clue why, not going to question it haha

There is a new mac build up that hopefully doesn't have this problem. Let me know if it works!

This is why I don't play rage games I get mad.... well, I guess that's the point lol

Great game

This game made me soooo mad. but really cool concept

I loved it!

I just watched a video of this game being played by a youtuber and its super funny and super entertaining and i really wanna play it so if you could make a version for smartphone i will be more than great cause i dont have a pc and i would enjoy to play this game

A quick, entertaining, and challenging experience. I am always impressed by these kinds of games because it requires serious design chops to break down and simplify gameplay into something so seemingly basic, yet fun. Great work, here.

I hope more people will suffer trying to beat this game, fantasic experience.

Very funny game.

absolutely immaculate gaming experience. would recommend only to those who score 127 or above on the mensa iq test though, as it may be difficult to comprehend otherwise.

😊👍

super silly and funny. QWOP type games will always have a place in my heart.

Very fun! And very difficult, I raged a lot. Good game!

This game was funny as hell!

cant wait to see more from you hopefully we get a new level to beat!!

I would love a second level!! (or two or three)

I have a new best time: 1:27

My best so far is 52 seconds (!!!)

(1 edit)

I only have 1:10. You got lucky with the box when returning.

(1 edit)

Submit that video to the leaderboards. That's 2nd place so far, and a pretty great playthrough! https://www.speedrun.com/the_professional?h=Any&x=wk64lmod

I did get pretty lucky with the box on the way back. Made quick work of it. Gave me plenty of trouble on the way to the diamond though.

LOOKING FOR WORLD RECORD TIMES???

If anybody wants to join in on the speedrunning fun, the SRC page is officially live here:

Awesome, thank you for setting this up!

Happy to get it going (and I was eager to get it going, too!). Thanks for making such a fun game for all of us. More levels when? haha

Also, please fix the mouse chiral motion recognition, it's very buggy. it's impossible to reverse direction of rotation quickly and preciesly (e.g. try to wiggle a limb). You can compare your algorithm to chiral scrolling on laptops with Synaptics touchpads.

I did some investigation regarding my eariler comment you deleted (the performance problem). It seems you are running 3 threads that are using 100% of a core each. However, each of those 3 threads spends around 82% of its execution time in the Windows API "SwitchToThread" function (called from UnityPlayer.dll). I don't know if it is because the function has some spinlock or other inside (which makes it use a lot of CPU while doing nothing, but judging by Microsoft documentation, it should be a simple function), or it's just called a lot of times per second, so the total execution time sums up to 82%. In any case, I assume this is not what you wanted to happen. I'm testing on Windows 7 x64.

Hey buddy. I appreciate the effort but you should report this to the Unity development team, not me. I can't do anything about this.

Game of the Year

(1 edit)

I'm in pain....This is my first ever rage game... and I truly enjoyed it :D

there's a hitbox bug where if the player below the lazer , the lazer didn't react to player. and it's kinda hard to click on limbs sometimes idk why

Bruh really cool game

Only 47 minutes to complete x)

Loving the wackiness and challenge of this game! Best time so far is 2 minutes 33 seconds. Also, I'm working on getting a page on SRC so people can come together in lovely speedrunning unity with this gem

(1 edit)

That is a cool game. Cleared in 4 minutes 22 seconds

And here is how you can pass the lasers quickly:

(1 edit)

Nice strategy for the lasers!
